“…. ---- This article intends to describe how processes of integration of immigrant students into the Chilean educational system are  intermediated  by  symbolic factors  related  to  the assessment   of   migration,   diversity   and   coexistence expressed in the allocation of characteristics and attributes towards the students based on their nationality, as well as curricular  factors  which  have  to  do  with  the  possibility  of integrating thoughts and contents about migration, culture and history of the countries of origin of immigrant students. Preliminary results of a study carried out in a municipal all-girls school in the commune of Santiago are considered. …”
