Published 2020“…These two receptions are those of Michel Foucault and Franz Hinkelammert, the last one being a representative figure of the Latin American’s critical theory. The essay will show an analysis and an explanation of both interpretations about the neoliberalism, that is also crossed by clearly different political experiences: while Foucault talks about neoliberalism from the context of his inquiries about the liberal governmentality and a distancing from the Marxism of his time, Hinkelammert will do it from the experience of the coup in Chile and the institutional implementation of the neoliberalism in that country. …”

Social identity and polarisation on social media around the satire of power regarding Chilean police violence
Published 2026“…Results suggest that the discourses comprise four main analytical dimensions: (1) identity in resistance, (2) conservative identity, (3) identity in fiction, and (4) Latin American identities. It is concluded that there are discourses on social media that contribute to the construction of social identities that denounce acts of violence carried out by State agents, allowing the establishment of a common narrative that constructs identity, nevertheless, it is also possible to observe dynamics linked to polarisation processes in other groups which reaffirm violence and authoritarian regimes.…”
