“…El presente artículo destaca: (1) la función social  de interés público provista por todo tipo de bosques y árboles fuera de los bosques como bien público global para el bienestar humano y  vital para la existencia humana, como por ejemplo la provisión de oxígeno, la producción de agua mediante la estimulación de las precipitaciones a nivel global, así como la regulación del clima mediante la mitigación de los gases de efecto invernadero que causan el calentamiento global, la modificación de los patrones de circulación atmosférica, la alteración de los regímenes de las precipitaciones, la temperatura y los vientos, y el cambio climático; (2) la incipiente incorporación de esta función social en el marco jurídico internacional sobre desarrollo y medio ambiente, así como en la legislación nacional, políticas, estrategias y programas, y; (3) algunos elementos del marco jurídico internacional y nacional que pudieran sustentar la consideración de la función social provista por todo tipo de bosques y árboles fuera de los bosques en el bienestar humano como bien público global vital para la existencia humana.…”
