The cholera, which appeared in India in 1818, spread to Asia, Europe, and finally to the Americas by 1834. This plague provoked great expectations of the unknown of its origin. The epidemic shocked the World for the speed that appeared in different parts, forcing and at the same time, facilitating the implementation of public health policies, and measures that should have been imposed long ago. Though observation and experimentation methods were developed to combat the epidemic, the struggle resulted in the discovery of the origin of the epidemic. This phenomenon led to the emergence around the world of public health. The epidemic threatened trade and social relations around the world in the nineteenth century. Urgent measures that had to be implemented included the disposal of bodies to try to prevent more victims leaving in their path the cholera-called wrathful cemeteries.
