Methods: Cross-sectional study developed with 211 adolescent students. The prevalence of arterial hypertension was assessed and its relationship with weight excess, physical activity and capillary glucose was verified. Results: The prevalence of arterial hypertension was 13.7%. No association was found between high blood pressure and weight excess and levels of physical activity. Adolescents with high capillary glucose presented greater chances of developing arterial hypertension. Conclusion: The studied adolescents presented a high prevalence of arterial hypertension. The cases of hypertension were only associated with high capillary glucose. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: research tables/charts Journal Article ougenre: Article language: English refInfo: holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
