Ma te ri al and Met hods:C.al bi cans ATCC 10039 and 50 C.al bi cans stra ins iso la ted from cli ni cal spe ci mes of pa ti ents who we re tre a ted in va ri o us cli nics of our hos pi tal we re used as re fe ren ce stra ins. The stra ins iso la ted from ste ri le body si tes and from cli ni cal spe ci mens con ta i ning pse u duhy phe on di rect exa mi na ti on we re con si de red as in fec ti o us agent and we re iden ti fi ed as C.al bi cans by germ tu be test and chla mi dos po re for ma ti on. Yolc sac agar me di - um was used to de tect phosp ho li pa se ac ti vity, Twe en 80 agar me di um was used to de tect es te ra se ac ti - vity and Kon go red bra in-he art in fu si on agar me di um was used to de tect sli me ac ti vity. Re sults: The re was no sig ni fi cant dif fe ren ce in terms of sli me, phosp ho li pa se and es te ra se ac ti vi ti es of C. al bi cans stra - ins iso la ted from pa ti ents com pa red to con trols (p= 0.357, p= 0.842, p= 0.841). Con sis tency analy sis bet we en vi ru len ce fac tors re ve a led no sig ni fi cant dif fe ren ce in the pa ti ent gro up. In the ot her hand, in the con trol gro up, es te ra se/phosp ho li pa se co e xis ten ce con sis tency was sig ni fi cant (K va lu e= +0.35, p= 0.001). Conc lu si on: In conc lu si on, we sug gest that many vi ru len ce fac tors of C. al bi cans ha ve im por - tant ro les in the de ve lop ment of C. al bi cans-re la ted in fec ti ons.
