Bar dis lo ca ti on and ro ta ti on has be en re por ted in the early pos to pe ra ti ve pe ri od. In this ca se re port, we pre sen ted a pa ti ent who se bar shif ted to the me di as ti - num 19 months af ter be ing pla ced, in or der to emp ha si ze out growth and dis lo ca ti on of the bar as a la te comp li ca ti on. In Nuss ope ra ti ons, the pla ced bar may pro ve short for the pa ti ent du e to ra pid growth and may shift to wards the me di as ti num. This may put pres su re on or da ma ge the vi tal medi as ti nal struc tu res. Du ring fol low-up, the deg re e of growth sho uld be de ter mi ned. If the re is a ra - pid growth, the bar sho uld be chec ked to se e whet her it is short or not. If the bar re ma ins short, it sho uld be re mo ved be fo re its 2-3 ye ars wa i ting pe ri od ends. Fol lo wing re mo val, a new and lon ger bar sho uld be in ser ted if ne ces sary.
