After a late start in getting rid of asylums and macro psychiatric hospitals, it is very receptive to their professionals are trained in holistic care of the psychiatric patient from prevention and early detection of disease, to standard hospitalization of the patient and finally to the monitoring and control once it has started its reintegration into the society. In this article, we reflect the history of nursing and the beginning of getting specialised on psychiatric nursing, their professionals and above all the fascination of these to create a professional mental health nursing in Jordan. Uno de los países árabes dónde la enfermería en salud mental está realizando enormes avances es sin duda el de Jordania. Después de un inicio tardío en deshacerse de los manicomios y macro hospitales psiquiátricos está muy receptiva a que sus profesionales se formen en una atención holística del paciente psiquiátrico, desde la prevención y detección precoz de la enfermedad, la hospitalización "normalizada" del paciente hasta el seguimiento y control una vez se ha iniciado su reinserción en la sociedad.
