Findings from PET/CT can improve the treatment plans by identifying the entire extent of disease, can assess response to RT, and can be used to monitor for disease recurrence. Radiologists and nuclear medicine physicians must be familiar with pitfalls in the interpretation of FDG-PET/CT to avoid both false-positive and false-negative findings.
