Ten months after the procedure, computed tomography and positron emission tomography findings raised the concern of tumor recurrence with invasion of the chest wall, for which the patient underwent thoracotomy with resection. Pathologic evaluation demonstrated osteonecrosis of the rib but no malignancy.
