| Sumario: | A descriptive study was conducted of 57 post-prostatectomy men living with prostate cancer by surveying them about follow-up care, health status, late-term effects, health behaviors, and health plan requirements. Results showed that follow-up care was being provided without significant health plan barriers, that some care was frequently duplicated, and that most men experienced late adverse effects of urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction needing further intervention. Nurses can be advocates and perform a central role in promoting access to multiple modalities of health care while avoiding duplicity of care for post-prostatectomy men. |
