| Sumario: | This article reviews recent recommendations regarding cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factor assessment in the prevention and management of heart failure (HF) in US women with hypertension (HTN). A review of the literature is presented as part of a comprehensive strategy to deter or treat HF. The article also describes CVD assessment tools that nurse practitioners (NPs) can use to identify women who are at risk for HF, stratify their HF risk, and manage their HTN, thereby attenuating the development of HF. |
