This article will discuss a pilot project that was set up to evaluate a weight management programme specifically targeted at this group of patients. Outcomes of weight loss, HbA1c reduction and patient-reported benefits of taking part will be discussed. Finally, recommendations for future development of a weight management programme will be considered.
