Sumario:The Nursing Care Process has been recently implemented in our place of work (Hospital Infanta Elena at Huelva). We noticed, thorough bibliographic search, that there is nothing written about this Method, apart from some references in the theoretical field. That was the reason why we wanted to know and to assess the method of work used by the nursing staff in the hospitals belonging to the Health Andalusian Service (S.A.S. in spanish).Design: A cross descriptive study.Population: 5700 nurses of the S.A.S. hospitals network. 391 nurses were selected thorough stratified random sampling, with a 2% of sampling error and 95% confidence.Tool to collect data: autoadministrave questionnaire. Results: the assessment phase is implemented in 55% of the hospitals. The nursing diagnosis is being underused. There are discharged nursing care plan at a 45% of the hospitals. Academic, institutional, demographic factors and the knowledge about the Nursing Care Process have influence on the use of the Nursing Care Process.
