| Sumario: | Objective: To measure the perceived level of preparedness for clinical governance in general practice in one countyDesign: Postal questionnaire surveySetting: One county of the UK made up of four primary care groupsResults: The majority of practices believed that they either had the components of clinical governance in place or were developing them. Some practices found difficulty understanding the jargon associated with clinical governance. A minority of respondents had none of the components.Conclusions: If these results are typical then general practice should have no concerns about the implementation of clinical governance. A supportive developmental programme should take place to facilitate its development. |
