| Sumario: | In this paper, national and professional trends related to rehabilitation science were discussed as background for the development of a rehabilitation science doctorate at the University of Florida. The UF doctoral program with its emphases in motor dysfunction, occupational function and health, social and behavioral integration, and communication neuroscience was described. Future questions related to unifying goals, competitive scholarship, interdisciplinary work, intra-disciplinary opportunities, and service applications were posed. |
