Sumario:Using a random sample of Israeli children, both Jewish and non-Jewish, various features of developmental exposure to stressful life events (SCEs) were studied. The data show that 99% of respondents have been exposed to SCEs as early as age ten. While both cultural and gender differences were found, the data show more profound differences between age groups, or school cohorts. These data are discussed in relation to a comprehensive developmental preventive programme that should be offered as a framework for adolescents' mental health promotion.
