Clean and valid data is the first step in the process. However, the statistical analysis that in itself is error free demands constant verification and diligence on the part of the data analysts and statisticians. Every step in the process must include data validation methods that ensures valid results. Descriptive statistics and programming code to detect errors are critical steps in producing and ultimately publishing reliable results from clinical trials.
