      ab: This study aims to explore how families / whanau, perceive their involvement and expectations of care when their family member is recovering from a moderate to severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), within the acute care environment. The researchers used a convenience sampling process and interviewed a member of the patient's family / whanau. This occurred within two weeks of discharge and utilised a telephone callback method. In order to deliver a service that encompasses holistic care it is hoped to discover a deeper understanding of the family / whanau, and how this knowledge could applied in the future.
