| Sumario: | This article on research project management is written primarily for the researcher who has started a project, has collected data on a few subjects and has now realized that the project is more involved than anticipated. Although discussion of the many different styles of management is beyond the scope of this article, it addresses some common problems faced by the researcher, including finding subjects, obtaining project approval from the institutional review board, indentifying and training staff, establishing a work plan, pilot testing, recording data, indentifying problems, using computer software for project management and budgeting. Specific examples and exercises are included.
