Sumario:Campylobacter pylori infection of the stomach may be an etiological factor in non-ulcer dyspepsia, gastric and duodenal ulcer disease. Herein is described the use of a rapid urease test (CLOtest) to detect C. pylori infection of gastric mucosal biopsies. The CLOtest, a simple endoscopy room biopsy test, will detect most C. pylori infections on the day of endoscopy, allowing the physician to prescribe treatment before the patient leaves the hospital.
