| Sumario: | This research evaluation study reviewed the functions offered by computer-based operating room information systems. Before the study, a literature review was conducted to determine the functions that should be considered when evaluating an operating room system. Twenty-one functions were identified in the literature. The ten most frequently mentioned were classified as mandatory. The other 11 were classified as optional. Eighteen software packages were reviewed and a ranking based on functions offered was derived. Two packages offered all 21 functions: three offered 18 functions each. |
