| Sumario: | We were content to limit the office automation to mailing addresses and word processing had it not been for our computer literate, enterprising Senior Secretary. She was familiar with the capabilities of the main-frame computer and started investigating programs that might be appropriate for CE activities. She learned that the Computer Programmer with the Division of Continuing Education had developed a user written system for CE activities. It is an ADABAS system written in Natural language that is multidepartmental -- meaning it offers a variety of options which may or may not be used by all CE providers, depending upon the needs of the program. The program is referred to as CEMENU. It is easy to use and provides prompt and informative screens for those who need them. Permission was granted from the Dean of the Division of Continuing Education for the School of Nursing, CE Program to use the system and authorization was given by Data Processing to use the hardware. Since September 1984 we have converted numerous manual tasks to automated procedures. Among these are: program offering records, participant registration data, income analysis of each offering, registration fee receipts, CEU verification letters, participant rosters, registration totals and limits, name tags, and CE transcripts.
