Sumario:The article presents several studies on mechanical ventilation. It says that the study published in the October 24, 2012 issue of the journal 'Intensive Care Medicine' has shown that the semi-seated position is considered the most comfortable for pressure support ventilation in intubated patients. It mentions that the study by Italian researchers reveals that extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a useful tool for lung transplantation in spontaneously breathing patients.
