| Sumario: | Introduction: Disturbances of cervicocephalic position sense have been related to impairment of sensorimotor system of cervical spine, with important role in symptom presentation. Several research groups has investigated such disturbances by using different methods, which many are not applicable for daily clinical environment. Objective: The objectives of this study were: 1) Use the method of static photogrammetry to identify angles related to cervicocephalic position before and after neck flexion and extension; 2) Calculate absolute (EA) and constant (EC) repositioning errors of these angles. Methods: 20 healthy individuals were randomly selected for the experimental procedure. The Identification of two different angles, alpha and beta, was performed by using the Postural Analysis Software (SAPO) after photographic record of cervicocephalic position before and after neck flexion and extension. Results: The results showed that no statistical difference occurred between compared errors, except for flexion and extension EA of angle alpha, flexion and extension EA of angle beta and flexion EA of angle alpha and beta. Conclusion: The study concludes that the identification and measurement of established angles were made possible through the proposed method of static photogrammetry, allowing for estimation of sagittal plane positioning errors. Such results are compatible with similar studies in literature. Possible sources of obtained differences could be related to non-stabilization of thoracic spine during test movement and/or strain of the passive structures of cervical spine, leading to excessive firing of embedded mechanoreceptors and favoring the error.
