| Sumario: | In recent years the development of technology has allowed an increasing number of immature babies to survive despite their biological fragility. These subjects often requires invasive procedures to support their immature biological functions in the artificial environment of Neonatal Intensive Care Units. The Newborn Individualized Developmental Care and Assessment Program (NIDCAP) and the Postural Developmental Care both provide tailored care for each premature admitted to the NICU. The goal of this review is to analyse the existing evidence of the effectiveness of these techniques in improving the neuro-behavioral development and the wellbeing of premature infants in the NICU Il recente progresso tecnologico ha permesso negli ultimi anni la sopravvivenza di neonati sempre più immaturi la cui fragilità biologica ha richiesto interventi invasivi mirati al sostegno di funzioni non ancora adeguate a garantirne la sopravvivenza. Il neonato prematuro, infatti, interrompe il suo sviluppo neuromotorio lasciando l'ambiente uterino per continuarlo nell'ambiente artificiale della terapia intensiva neonatale. Il NIDCAP e la Developmental postural care forniscono risposte individualizzate per ogni singolo prematuro. Questa revisione illustra l'efficacia di specifiche tecniche previste da questi metodi al fine di diffonderne l'utilizzo nelle terapia intensiva neonatale e promuovere la consapevolezza ed il rispetto da parte del personale assistenziale dei bisogni e delle tappe maturative del prematuro nella pratica clinica. |
