Sumario:	"Tre Donne Sole: Pavese's Women in Search of a Modern Identity" analyzes the representation of women in three of Cesare Pavese's works: "Pensieri di Dina," La bella estate, and Tra donne sole. This article argues that the depiction of women and gender in these texts is more modern and complex than one might originally suspect considering Pavese's reputation as a misogynist and the essentialist claims that appear throughout his work.
