| Sumario: | People can watch movies in different ways. They can rent a movie and watch it at home. They can download a movie from the internet and watch it on their computers or on TV screens. They can subscribe to movie channels and watch different kinds of movies. They can watch a movie at a movie theater. People have different options to choose how and where to watch a movie. But most of them take the hardest and the most expensive way to go to the movies. They have to dress up, find someone to go with them, drive to the movie theater, find a parking place, pay for the ticket and pay extra money for popcorn and drinks while they can stay home, without going through all the trouble of going to the movie theater, and watch the movie at their preferred time. So the question is why do people go to the movies? This study explores the rationale behind Kuwaiti's moviegoing behaviors. It investigates how Kuwaitis select the movie theaters they go to and with whom they go. It also tries to understand the reasons why the Kuwaitis go to the movie theaters. In order to understand that, we should focus on the uses and gratifications concept which will be applied. We should also know what kind of gratifications Kuwaitis get from going to the movies.
