Particular focus is given to discussions about spatial computing which took place at a 2012 Computing Community Consortium workshop and to the role the computing community can play in spatial computing. Details on global positioning systems (GPS), spatial databases and datamining, and location-based services such as Google Maps and Uber are presented. Other topics include the Internet of Physical Things, ubiquitous indoor location-based services, and warnings.
