Sumario:Independent publisher Profile Books has grown its sales by 3% to £2.4 million to end-March 2003, helped in part by the acquisition of HarperCollins' business list during the year. Profile raised £ 196,671 by issuing new shares to fund the purchase. Among the "superb backlist classics" were "What Management Is," by Joan Magretta and "In Search of Excellence," by Tom Peters and Robert Waterman. The operating loss was £ 1,836, compared to a profit of £ 59,044 the previous year, owing to a write down of assets related to the deal. Gross margin was steady at 30%.
