The authors of this article explore police-involved homicides of unarmed Black males through the unique lens of Black scholars. Embedded in an ecological perspective, the authors address three critical questions: (1) From the viewpoint of the Black scholar, what was the impact of the recent events? (2) To what extent have the recent events influenced pedagogical and community work by Black scholars? and (3) In light of the recent events, what can be done to improve policies and strengthen your academic discipline?
