The 128 people included in the report are not a sample, but rather everyone who entered the program during the year before the study. The report describes the kinds of young people who were involved with the program, what supports they received, and some early but very strong findings about the outcomes of their involvement. Measures included satisfaction surveys about the present satisfaction with the program, as well as remembered satisfaction before the program. Unfortunately the authors were unable to collect satisfaction measurements before program involvement. Because this report contains only preliminary data, the authors caution against generalizing their findings to autism in general. The purpose of this article is to set the stage for further research that will assist people with autism spectrum disorders and their families in choosing a treatment path. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
