        The present article deals with secular education as an essential step towards integration into broader society. Analyzed statistic of attendance in primary and secondary schools (gymnasiums), the value of subjects, an assessment of the religious education in public schools including practice teaching of religion. Schoolchildren with different faith not always tolerated other religion, but common schools for Jews and non-Jews make an influence on their worldview.
        Рассматривается вопрос присутствия евреев в частных и государственных светских школах. Светское образование в ХІХ веке считалось одним из способов интеграции евреев. Изучена статистика посещаемости евреями начальных и средних (гимназий) учебных заведений; предпринята попытка проанализировать значение школьных дисциплин, особенно практику преподавания основ иудейской религии. Совместное обучение представителей разных вероисповеданий не обходилось без конфликтов, которые провоцировали дискуссии в обществе, но трудно преувеличить значение светского образования в процессе формирования личности еврейской молодежи.
