        Objective: Check the incidence of flat feet in students from rural and urban areas between the age group 7-11years in both genders. Methods: - to collect data, stating name, age, weight, height, place of residence urban or rural area, scaling a sample of 120 young people, using systematic sampling closing an error margin of 5%. The data collected were grouped into a table where the percentage were made; 60 rural and 60 urban areas. Result: There are plans standing predominance in urban school children compared to rural.         Objetivo: Verificar a incidência de pés planos em escolares da zona rural e urbana entre a faixa etária de 7 a 11 anos em ambos os gêneros. Métodos: Realizou-se a coleta de dados, constando nome, idade, peso, altura, local da residência, zona urbana ou rural, dimensionando uma amostra de 120 jovens, utilizando a amostragem sistematica, fixando uma margem de erro de 5%. Os dados coletados foram agrupados em uma tabela onde foram feitas as porcentagens; 60 da zona rural e 60 da zona urbana. Resultado: observou-se um predomínio de pé plano em crianças de escola urbana quando comparado a rural. Estes resultados comprovam o mecanismo de atrofia dos músculos sustentados das abóbadas plantares de indivíduo que caminham constantementes calçados. Constatou-se que a maioria das crianças avaliadas eram assintomáticas. Conclusão: Observou-se maior incidência de pés planos na zona urbana e observou-se índice elevado de alterações podais, evidenciando a necessidade de ações preventivas.
