This perspective makes it possible to appreciate that the picaresque novel presents the Horatian topos as at once a kind of village contempt and courtly praise, having elements in common with other, similar modalities such as courtesan discourse and military autobiography. Entre las claves de la novela picaresca, se encuentra sin duda su carácter marcadamente moderno y urbano, por lo que este trabajo pretende reflexionar sobre la importancia de la cultura urbana en la conformación de la narrativa de pícaros: desde esta perspectiva, se aprecia que se trata de una novela que da la vuelta al topos horaciano como una suerte de menosprecio de aldea y alabanza de corte, al tiempo que se relaciona con otras modalidades anejas como el discurso cortesano y las relaciones de soldados. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: Spanish refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: Y custom: Copyright of Bulletin of Hispanic Studies (1475-3839) is published by Liverpool University Press, and its content may not be copied or emailed to multiple sites or posted to a listserv without Liverpool University Press's express written copyright permission.
