      ab: Aim: to verify the association between nursing diagnoses of physical injury class and its components in critically ill patients. Method: A cross-sectional study of 86 individuals admitted to the intensive care unit of a teaching hospital in north-eastern Brazil. Results: We identified 18 of the 20 diagnoses related to the personal injury class of Nanda-International; of these, nine were present in over 75% of respondents and were statistically associated with its components. Conclusion: the diagnoses of physical injury class showed significant relationships with its components. .
