| Sumario: | This article provides a critique of major works of 20th century Peruvian poetry, examples of which include "Canto general," by Pablo Neruda, "España, aparta de mí este cáliz," by César Vallejo, and "Crónica del Niño Jesús de Chilca," by Antonio Cisneros. The author examines various characteristics of these poems, especially their inclusion of linguistic and cultural elements unique to Peru. A general textual analysis is provided and the poems' performative aspects is also considered. |
