| Sumario: | This article discusses the book "Survey Methods in Social Investigation," by C.A. Moser. Considering the amount of activity and interest in survey research, there are remarkably few books, which provide a systematic and comprehensive introduction to survey methods. This British volume meets the need for such a textbook admirably. All stages of a survey are covered from the original planning to the drafting of the final report. About one-third of the book is devoted to sampling. The writing is lucid and the presentation of material is balanced and sensible. The intention of the book is to provide research workers with a groundwork of knowledge about general ideas." The book presents the treatment of specific aspects of survey research. Other phases of the research process are treated much more briefly than sampling. |
