It deals with the hypothesis of a new and distinct institutional aspect that can be called "cyber-politics". This dimension is based on two founding forces: on one hand, the role of computer code in building the communicational network architecture (internet). On the other hand, the role of virtual communities as subjects that are constrained by this architecture but at the same time can modify it. These communities are organized by networked governance systems that make the cy-ber-political power horizontal, nevertheless they are no out of conflict. En el presente trabajo se aborda el problema de la manifestación de lo político en el ciberespacio, sosteniendo la hipótesis de que hay un aspecto institucional nuevo y distinto que podemos definir como "ciberpolítica". Este aspecto se basa en dos fuerzas instituyentes: por un lado, el rol del código informático en la construcción de la arquitectura comunicacional de la red de redes (internet); por el otro, el rol de las comunidades virtuales como sujetos que se ven constreñidos por esas arquitecturas pero que, al mismo tiempo, pueden modificarlas. Estas comunidades se organizan mediante sistemas de gobernanza en red que horizontalizan el poder ciberpolítico, aunque no están ajenas al conflicto. 0 presente trabalho aborda o problema da manifestação do político no ciberes-paço, defendendo a hipótese de que há um espaço institucional novo e distinto que podemos definir como "ciberpolítica". Este aspecto se assenta em duas forças instituintes: por um lado, o papel do código informático na construção da arquitetura comunicacional da rede de redes (internet); por outro, o papel das comunidades virtuais como sujeitos que se vêem constrangidos por esas arqui-teturas mas que, ao mesmo tempo, podem modificá-las.
