ab: Publishers and libraries are to work more closely together following the creation of a new cross-trade forum steered by the company, Reading Agency. The consortium will aim to build better links between the two sectors to improve readers' use of libraries, focusing on adult reading during a two-year pilot period. The Reading Agency is in negotiations with Arts Council, England, London, to gain funding for smaller publishers to join. The agency hopes the forum will educate publishers about libraries. Publishers will be encouraged to support reading group activities, literacy skills projects and reading promotions.
