ab: HG Publishing, an imprint which produces training works for the Human Givens approach to therapy, is to launch a trade list for the general reader. Human Givens is a radical style of treatment that rejects long drawn-out therapy for chronic depression in favour of very brief interventions. The trade list has been established following the word-of-mouth success of "Human Givens: A New Approach to Emotional Health and Clear Thinking," by Joe Griffin and Ivan Tyrrell, founders of the therapeutic approach. The book, published without sales or distribution support last summer, has sold more than 6,000 copies through direct sales and the Internet as a £ 25 hardback, says the publisher.
