It mentions the national press agency, Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), was established in 1959 and introduction of state-controlled radio stations and television channels in Morocco. It also mentions the press structure was moulded by being attached in the main to authorized political parties in 1956; and magazines played an important role in public debates up to the early 1970s.
