Sumario:The article discusses the security threat posed by ransomware. In May 2017, hackers used a ransomware virus called WannaCry, which was allegedly adapted from stolen cyber weapons developed by the U.S. National Security Agency, to encrypt computer users' files and lock them out of their computers in order to demand a ransom in digital currency bitcoin. It is asserted that the WannaCry attack indicates the security risks that could be posed by the militarization of cyberspace.
