It is shown the limitations of the ε-Machine spectral reconstruction (εMSR) method for the derivation of the stacking sequence in disorder polytypic structures from X-ray diffraction data. The shortcomings of the methods are discussed in relation to sequences containing polytypes with large periods.

Se abordan las limitaciones del método de reconstrucci ón espectral basado en máquinas de ε(εMSR) para la obtención de secuencias de apilado de estructuras politípicas desordenadas, a partir del patr ón de difracci ón de rayos X. Se discuten las deficiencias del método al tratar estructuras politípicas con períodos largos.
