These devices include games, reminders, tracking tools, and many more, but few regulations regarding their efficacy and safety exist. What role should Gerontechnologists play regarding establishing standards to protect the consumer? The creation of standards bodies in various nations, and their role as potential models to stimulate discussion is presented.
