Summary:This research was made with the objective of evaluating the territorial capacity of a set of touristic areas in the port of Mazatlán Sinaloa. The analyze data considers 573 quantitative variables for the municipality of Mazatlán, which is located in the INEGI bank of information. The investigation results contribute in the construction of a global rating that offers empiric evidence about five dimensions. (Natural, Cultural, Tourist Plant, Tourism Infrastructure, Tourism Superstructure), which provides criteria to identify and defined the degree of suitability that presents the territory from a physical, social, economic and environmental context. To ease the research, it was used the cluster analysis, with base in this five dimensions two main TIPOLOGIAS got identify (tourist areas with high potential and tourist areas with low potential).
Esta investigación se realizó con el objetivo de evaluar la capacidad territorial de un conjunto de espacios turísticos en el puerto de Mazatlán Sinaloa. La información analizada considera 573 variables cuantitativas para el municipio de Mazatlán, mismas que se concentran en el banco de información INEGI. Los resultados del estudio contribuyen en la construcción de un índice global que ofrece evidencia empírica sobre cinco dimensiones (Natural, Cultural, Planta turística, Infraestructura turística, Superestructura Turística), mismas que proveen criterios para identificar y definir el grado de idoneidad que presenta el territorio desde un contexto físico, social, económico y ambiental. Para facilitar el estudio se utilizó el análisis por conglomerados, con base en estas cinco dimensiones se identificó dos tipologías principales (espacios turísticos con alto potencial y espacios turísticos con bajo potencial).
