| Sumario: | This case study explores the spiritual dimensions of environmental activism in the context of water security and the political economy of shale gas industrialization in the overlapping territories of the Wabanaki nations and the province of New Brunswick during the period 2011-14. The findings stress the importance of taking spiritual dimensions of cultural narratives into account when public conflicts arise on how to negotiate the ongoing partnership between the environmental and economic values that are both needed to support the public interest in a sustainable future. The findings also stress the importance of further research in blue theologies. La présente étude de cas explore les dimensions spirituelles de l'éco-activisme dans le cadre de la sécurité de l'approvisionnement en eau et de l'économie politique de l'industrialisation du gaz de schiste sur le chevauchement des territoires des Wabanakis et du Nouveau-Brunswick au cours de la période allant de 2011 à 2014. Les résultats soulignent l'importance de tenir compte des dimensions spirituelles des récits culturels lorsque des conflits publics naissent et sur la façon de négocier l'association en cours entre les valeurs environnementales et économiques qui sont toutes deux nécessaires en vue d'appuyer l'intérêt public pour un avenir durable. En outre, les résultats mettent en lumière l'importance de mener d'autres recherches dans le domaine des «théologies» de l'eau. |
