Symposiums, in this context, have emerged as a rather important means of exchanging and debating current scientific information through publishing and sharing it. Symposiums are organized and hosted by various universities across Turkey. Each university sets up a regulatory board for the symposium, and each symposium is held at that university for the first time. Challenges can thus sometimes be experienced with necessary symposium preparations, websites, technical processes, and the planning of activities, etc. The profiles of symposium participants needs to be defined in order to provide more concrete predictions for a diverse array of symposiums. As this study is qualitative, the document analysis technique was used. According to the findings of the research, symposium participants focused their attention primarily on transportation and accommodation, registration fees, important dates, the symposium programme, and published notices. Of those showing interest in the symposium, most were between 25 - 34 years of age, followed by 33 - 44 and 18 - 24 years of age. It appears that most of the participants were from Turkey, Russia, and the United States of America. Participants mainly used Windows, Android, and iOS-based communication systems, and the number of those using mobile devices were on par with those using desktops and laptops. En temel görevi bilgiyi oluşturmak ve paylaşmak olan bilimsel etkinliklerin en önemli görevi bilim insanlarının araştırma sonuçlarını ve deneyimlerini sunma olanağı vermek ve tüm katılımcıların birbirinden öğrenmelerini sağlamaktır. Sempozyumlar bu bağlamda günümüzün bilimsel bilgi alışverişi ve tartışma olanağı için bilginin paylaşımı ve yayılımı boyutunda oldukça önemli bir etkinlik olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Sempozyumlar, Türkiye’deki değişik üniversiteler ve kuruluşlar tarafından organize edilmekte ve bu sempozyumları gerçekleştirilmektedir. Ancak her üniversite sempozyum için bir düzenleme kurulu ekibi oluşturmakta ve bu sempozyumlar o üniversitelerde ilk kez gerçekleştirilmektedir. Dolayısıyla, gerek sempozyuma hazırlık, gerek web sitesi ya da teknik süreçler, gerek etkinliğin gerçekleştirilmesi gibi boyutlarda bazı zorluklar yaşanabilmektedir. Farklı alanlardaki sempozyumlar açısından da katkı sağlayacağı öngörülen bu çalışmanın amacı, bir sempozyum katılımcı profillerinin incelenerek alana ışık tutmasıdır. Araştırma nitel bir çalışma olup araştırmada doküman analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre sempozyum katılımcıları en çok ulaşım ve konaklama, katılım ücreti, önemli tarihler, sempozyum programı ve yayınlanan bildiriler içeriklerine yoğunlaşmışlardır. Sempozyuma ilgi gösteren katılımcılar en çok 25-34 yaş aralığında olup bunu 35-44 ve 18-24 yaş aralığındakiler takip etmektedir. Katılımcıların en çok Türkiye, Rusya ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nden oldukları görülmüştür.
