| Sumario: | This article presents the principal statistical series collected and calculated by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics which are as follows series on labor force, employment, unemployment, labor compensation, consumer, producer, and international prices, productivity, international comparisons, and injury and illness statistics. Certain monthly and quarterly data are adjusted to eliminate the effect on the data of such factors as climatic conditions, industry production schedules, opening and closing of schools, holiday buying periods, and vacation practices, which might prevent short-term evaluation of the statistical series. Wages of covered Federal workers represent the gross amount of all payrolls for all pay periods ending within the quarter. This includes cash allowances, the cash equivalent of any type of remuneration, severance pay, withholding taxes, and retirement deductions.
