Sumario:	The article examines the portrayal of gay people in several books with regard to the use of the mythical king Tantalus as an allusion. These books include "Verwirrung der Gefühle" by Stefan Zweig, "Følelsers forvirring" by Borghild Krane, and "Et Vildskud" by Agnete Holk. Also explored are the use of cultural elements to establish gay meaning in a text, the differences between the works, and catachresis and connotation as homocultural language.
